Don’t Sit Down On The Job
If you thought 30 minutes of exercise was the answer to every health issue – think again!
A recent Australian study found that 30 minutes of daily exercise does not offset the detrimental effects of prolonged computer screen time. It was found that for every hour in front of the screen, there is a 9% increased risk of death from cancer and 18% from CV disease.
Professor David Dunstan from Baker IDI Heart & Diabetes Institute recommends 2 minute breaks every 20 minutes, standing meetings and height adjustable desks. He believes that muscle contractions, needed for breaking down fat, are disrupted by sitting for too long.

September Webinar: Is the Needs Analysis For You or Them.
For years we have asked guests to complete a Needs Analysis but why? Many sales trainers say if they complete it they own their decision. But in reality the completion of this information is for the salesperson and don’t let anyone tell you differently! It provides you the information you need to close a sale, without ever having to do a tour! So attend this webinar and learn how!
Tuesday 7th September at 2pm, come along to listen and learn.

Social Media Helps Gets Members
In small business we are always trying to establish new ways to get new customers – whether it be for members, clients or even just casual visitors. According to a February–March 2010 survey from Regus, smaller companies see the most success from social media. Nearly half of small businesses around the world have acquired a customer through social networks.
Sande Golgart, Vice President at Regus, said, “While the most popular function of these networks remains that of keeping in touch with contacts, businesses are also successfully acquiring new customers, supporting their retention efforts and interacting with customer groups. Organisations who have not yet ventured into the world of social networking may be missing out on sizeable business opportunities.”
And customer acquisition by country sees that our potential customers are happy to use social mediums to purchase.
If you need any help with your social media campaign, Justin is one of the world’s leading fitness industry experts in social media. He can help you get members and keep members using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and You Tube. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Ezypay Wins Twice in 30 Days!
Congratulations to George, Trent, Celeste, Dan, Simon and all the Team for a busy 4 weeks with 2 awards! They were awarded 23rd place in BRW Best Places to Work. Trent told us, “We’ve gone to great lengths to establish a firm culture within the organisation by setting up four core values for the team. Each of these values has been given a personality and an avatar to personify the value and give our team something tangible to relate to.”
Then less than 30 days later they won the NSW Telstra Business Medium Business Award.
It is great that the fitness industry has nationally recognised businesses. And even better that Ezypay are sponsors of FitnessBiz 2010!

Gen Y Shuns Holidays
Many people say Gen Y have no loyalty or work ethic. But it has been found by Expedia that Aussies aged between 18 to 34 are twice as likely not to take all their holiday leave. They are worried they will miss an important decision at work and that it will create the wrong impression with employers. In fact 11% of those surveyed say they are too busy at work to even take holidays.

Five Questions to Ask A Web Designer
- What is their approach? How will they determine what will work for your business?
- What content and contact management systems do they offer?
- Have they done work in our industry? Can they give you any references?
- Who is going to do the actual work? Can you talk to them, if required?
- How will they ensure your website is optimised for search engines?

Richard Branson Wisdom
“To keep yourself and your staff motivated and healthy,
it’s important to take holidays and get a break from work.”

What to Look For In New Staff
Yeah sure you want to know if they have the ability to do the job, the skill set, experience and personal and professional abilities but also consider:
- Career fit – does your position match their ‘career logic;’
- Cultural alignment – a definite match for your business’s culture;
- Interpersonal skills – ability to interact and add to conversations on a range of topics;
- Personal values – integrity, passion, drive and confidence;
- Communication skills – written, oral and aural skills;
- Independence – preparedness to work alone and offer alternative solutions

Win $1250 in marketing prizes
When you created your business website did the process run smoothly, or did your new website end up costing more and taking longer than you planned? And now that your website is up and running, has it quickly become a valuable business asset, or is it failing to give you any real results?
Anecdotal evidence points to an epidemic amongst small business owners spending time and money on ‘first edition’ websites that don’t meet their expectations. In a bid to formally gather these anecdotes into hard data, Grassroots Internet Strategy are asking for all business owners to complete a brief, five-minute online survey by clicking here.
The survey aims to identify common trends and issues that business owners face in regards to website development and marketing. By responding, you will contribute valuable data that will, in turn, help other business owners avoid costly mistakes - and you can enter the draw to win over $1250 worth of business marketing prizes.
The first prize pack, valued at over $950, includes a Keyword Analysis tool, a Do-It-Yourself PR Kit, Website Strategy and Business Coaching, a Google AdWords trial and a Custom Designed Twitter background.
All survey responses are anonymous and the results will be made publicly available.
