The Best Day of the Week to Send Email
During the break I received a great piece of advice from Jay Conrad Levinson:
“Emails sent on a Friday results in at least 23% more sales than emails that are sent out on any other day; Friday emails out-pull the worst day (Wednesday!) by 89%. Emails sent out on a Tuesday get the worst percentage of clicks (or views). Wednesday emails get the worst sales. Thursday is the best day to send emails to get raw clicks.
You could earn 89% more money on a direct-response offer by simply changing when you send your emails. Imagine the cumulative earnings you will generate by applying this information to your online business. Combine this with the fact that many still believe the myth that Wednesday is the best day of the week to send email, and this information alone will give you a tremendous competitive edge.”
Hope this helps you decide when to email your clients!

Even Toilets Create Experiences
In 2011, we are all striving to keep our customers. Some can go for the old fashioned smiling receptionist who knows your customer’s name, while others may try to create experiences.
We often see ‘dunny door’ advertising – as we have available for you by clicking here – in Australia, where a product is advertised on the back of the toilet door.
In Japan, a coffee company turned a toilet cubicle into a ski jump:

And in Brazil ESPN used the urinals to promote their coverage of soccer games:

And not to be outdone, in Canada Mini Cooper set up a urinal for men to “test their driving skills.”

Do any ideas spring to mind for your business to market in a new and different way?

2011 Year of the Webinar
In an effort to make your business better and stronger we are launching a comprehensive training program to help you. And the good news: you don’t have to leave your office!
Using the latest technology, we have 2 webinars every month: the second and the last Tuesday of the month! They are held at 2:30pm Sydney time and go for just 45 minutes. In fact, when you register you can listen live and ask questions or you can just listen to the recording – your choice!
The very cool thing is that they are industry specific and others are for general business and motivation. So click here to find out more.

Masters of Business For Personal Trainers
We are regularly asked if we can train personal trainers in the ‘business’ side of being a personal trainer – whether they are an employee or work for themselves. So over the Christmas Break, we have designed what we are calling ‘MBPT – Masters of Business for Personal Trainers.’
This is a 16 week 1:1 coaching program to help improve the business acumen of personal trainers. We cover everything from sales to communication to KPI’s to marketing. We even hold the students accountable with homework and reporting their KPI’s every week.
It is a wonderful program for new personal trainers to ensure they launch their business with bang rather than plop! Check out more here.

You Tube Clip: ‘We Miss You’
I am always looking for very cool ways to communicate with our members, clients and customers whom we have not seen for awhile. I was shown this from Libby from Anytime Fitness:

2011 – Can You Improve?
If you want 2011 to be different to other years, you have to do something different. Yes that can be risky but the reality is change nothing and nothing changes. So here are a few tips for you to consider:
Productivity habits:
- Use an inbox system. Make the habit of keeping track of all the ideas and things that comes to mind. You should use a notebook or your computer.
- Prioritise. If you have a list of things to do, where do you start? One way is to prioritize your list. If you are in doubt, ask yourself: “If I could only accomplish one thing today, what would it be?”
- Wake up early. Waking up early in the morning is a great way to gain extra time.
- Check your email at a set time every day. Email can easily become an addiction and it’s unnecessary to check it every 10 minutes. Diarise when you will check your email and see if the world will still rotate.
- Eliminate unimportant tasks. Being busy all day does not mean you are doing important stuff. Eliminate every activity that’s not important, and focus on what really matters.
- Clean off your desk and room. Having a clear room and desk is important to maintain focus and creativity, so start and finish the day free from clutter.
- Automate. There are a lot of tasks that you need to perform every day or every week. Try to automate them as much as possible.
- Set strict deadlines. When you do something, decide in advance when you’re going to stop. There’s a rule that states that you will fulfill all the time you have available for completing a task, so make an habit of setting strict deadlines for maximizing your productivity.
Personal Development habits:
- Read 1 book per week. Reading is a good way to keep your brain active. With just 30 minutes per day you should be able to read one book per week, or more than 50 books per year.
- Think positively. You are what you think, all the time.
- Make fast decisions. Instead of thinking for one hour wherever you are going to do something, make your decisions as fast as possible (usually less than 1 minute).
- Wait before buying. Waiting 48 hours before buying anything is a tremendous money saver, try it.
