Enrolling Now: Masters of Business For Personal Trainers
We have put the finishing touches onto the fitness industry's BEST business training program for personal trainers who run their own business. This program is designed to help, guide and coach new trainers for the launch of their business. We cover everything from sales to communication to KPI’s to marketing. We even hold the students accountable with homework and reporting their KPI’s every week.
This is a 16 week 1:1 coaching program to help improve the business acumen of personal trainers. We believe it is a superb program for new personal trainers to ensure they launch their business with bang rather than plop!
Last month at one of the REX meetings, we had a member share how challenging it can be for them to articulate their questions. And in fact, while speaking out loud it helped clarify what they needed to know.
As a result, we are going to implement the coloured hats that Edward do Bono suggests for meetings. And I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t use the same in your Team meetings.
Check this out . . . his 6 thinking hats
The White Hat
The White Hat calls for information known or needed.
The Red Hat
The Red Hat signifies feelings, hunches and intuition.
The Black Hat
The Black Hat is judgment -- the devil's advocate or why something may not work.
The Yellow Hat
The Yellow Hat symbolizes brightness and optimism.
The Green Hat
The Green Hat focuses on creativity: the possibilities, alternatives and new ideas.
The Blue Hat
The Blue Hat is used to manage the thinking process.
News From REX
REX Round Tables have just finished using the great Derek Barton to help redesign the logo. And here it is!
We love it! And we think that it really embodies what REX Round Tables is all about. A group of people who are challenged to make their business better – more efficient, more productive and more profitable!
And last month we saw Ben from Shapes Health Club, WA, depart one of the national health club REX groups for a great opportunity for his club. Ben was a great REX member and left us with this amazing testimonial:
“Thanks will never be enough to each one of you for the support and encouragement you have provided me. Having entered the industry with no experience 5 years ago it is a daunting task to get your head around the Ins and outs of how these businesses work. The openness which each one of you have provided has been key to me learning the ropes and the success of Shapes.
Finally to JT, our fearless leader. I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of successful people in the industry, however in my mind JT is definitely an Industry Futurist and leads the way in spotting trends. He has been a fantastic mentor and has really helped inspire and connect me into the industry. For that I am forever grateful for and hope that we can continue an association into the future.”
If you would like to take Ben's place on the REX, there is now a vacancy and this is the only way to join a REX group . . . when there is a vacancy!

Your Website: About Us
At a conference last year, I heard that one of the most viewed pages on a website is the ‘Who Are We’ or ‘About Us’ page. And last month I stumbled across an article by Blog Tyrant that named some great ‘About Us’ pages and gave some tips:
Get the point across:
First and foremost an About Us page has to get a point across. Everything else is completely and utterly useless. The goal is to tell the user who you are by showing them what you can do for them or have done for others.
Give you the information you need:
Some About Us pages spend the whole time talking about what it is that the company does and nothing about the staff members. Some do the opposite. Unless the page gives the information that you need based on the type of site you are on then it won’t make the list.
Give you social proof, testimonials and other authenticity statements:
A good About Us page always needs to have some mention of past successes, achievements, social proof, etc. Giving concrete examples of why your site or blog is worth reading is extremely important for these pages.
Don’t let design elements negate the potency:
Some of the About Us pages I am about to show you will make you weep because they are so beautiful. Some not so much. But it is important to note that I haven’t included any pages on here purely because they look nice.
Here are some examples:
Don’t check out our About Us page yet. We are re-designing it based on these tips!

Active Management Product of the Month:
Mystery Shopper Program. Click on the image below and read how we can provide a comprehensive mystery shopper service to your fitness business
Here is what one of our customers said . . .
"Stacey and her team of mystery shoppers have provided our business an outstanding, measurable training tool. As a business we can send staff to training sessions ad nausea but there is nothing like providing staff 'real' feedback about their performance. By making staff aware of monthly mystery calls and evaluating their performance, we have increased the skill level of our customer service and membership teams. Mystery calling has been an invaluable training tool, and allows us to reinforce systems and procedures we've implemented across our facilities. Dollar for dollar, it's up there with the best marketing and/or training investment we've ever made."
