Fitness Australia-led joint venture acquires fitness industry’s premier education convention, FILEX

In an historic moment for the fitness industry, a Fitness Australia-led joint venture has acquired Australia’s premier fitness education event – FILEX.

Bill Moore CEO of Fitness Australia, the peak fitness industry association, shares his excitement around this announcement.

“Having Fitness Australia lead the FILEX Convention as of 2018 represents a major milestone for the Association and our members, and clearly describes our future direction.”

“Our 2020 Strategic Plan calls for a heavy focus on meaningful engagement, proactive leadership and service excellence – the annual FILEX event encapsulates all three of these elements.”

“The annual three-day education convention is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, bringing together over 2,000 fitness industry personnel to explore the latest concepts, get practical inspiration and network with like-minded people,” says Moore.

“FILEX has played a significant role in educating, inspiring and growing the Australian fitness industry since 1988. This is a huge win for our AusREPs and our business members, who’ll also receive the added benefit of a discounted ticket rate.”

“With our members’ best interest at heart, we can’t wait to continue leading and supporting this dynamic industry of ours by delivering this key annual event and taking it to the next level.”

“Being passed the baton to continue the work of Nigel Champion and Greg Hurst in building Australia’s leading fitness convention is an honour and a responsibility that isn’t lost on us.”

Nigel Champion, Executive Director of Australian Fitness Network said, “Over the past 30 years it has been our privilege to establish one of the premier fitness events in the world. I have no doubt that Fitness Australia will continue the FILEX legacy by delivering a convention that will inspire and educate fitness instructors, personal trainers and business operators in our dynamic industry.”

“The flow on effect from the high quality of continuing education will make a difference to the health and wellbeing of people of all ages around the country.”
