We often look to technology to reduce road blocks, improve efficiency or even decrease wages.  This was the agenda for the development of self-service kiosks in supermarkets.

When we examine technology and the relationship with members, our focus seems to be on helping members.  There is a proliferation of videos and apps to show members “how to” squat, press, stretch, eat and so on.  But today’s consumer needs support more than anything else.

A common theme was how much data we have on our prospects and members now but we just are not using this information to shape business decisions.

In the quest for user generated content, Active Wellness turn over their Instagram account to members.  There are obviously conditions and instructions that are given for the takeover but the concept is to share ‘life as a member.’

Paul Bowman from Wexer talked of McFit in Germany who are possibly using virtual and the streaming product better than most.

Last week I was fortunate enough to attend the Motionsoft Technology Summit. I’ve wanted to attend this event for the past 5 years.
