You Want Good People In Your Business? How Are You Leading?

One of the most common questions I receive is “How do I find good people to work for me?”  Closely followed by “How do I keep good people working for me?”  And then finally “How do I get more leads?”

The equation is simple:

Find good people => Keep good people => Members love you => Leads will come

Before you read any more, you have to be committed to making a change somewhere in your business.  I can guarantee you that if you keep doing the same thing as you have been doing, you’re going to get the same result.  To #thinkanddodifferent, you need to think strategically and that is what I want you to do!

To have a line of people wanting to work for you would be the ultimate!  There are fitness businesses around the world that have that luxury and yes some are large brands like Soul Cycle but there are also single operators like Function Well in Brisbane, Australia.  It is possible and here are some keys:

  • Why are you different to any other business to work for? This is your “why” and your core values.
  • Don’t wait to fill a vacant role, always be looking for awesome people and find a role for them.
  • Interview to find the real person not the person who has ‘trained’ for the interview.
  • Set the parameters and key performance indicators for the role before the person even applies for the job – if they know the goal posts before they start you have a pre-qualified applicant.

I have put together a training video that goes into these four points in more depth with to do actions to have you implement your learning’s.  You can grab a digital copy by clicking here.
