Fitness Australia, the peak body for the fitness industry in Australia, has announced the finalists for the first annual #ActiveAchievers awards. The awards recognise outstanding fitness trainers and instructors across Australia and one finalist from each state and territory has been chosen from among hundreds of nominations.

An overall #ActiveAchievers winner will be chosen from the finalists and will be announced along with the winners of the Student Award and the Awards of Honour at Fitness Australia’s annual Gala Dinner, which is being held on the Gold Coast on Friday 30 October. Tickets to the event are available at nationalsymposium.fitness.org.au

The three awards categories celebrate industry excellence and the work the fitness industry does in helping everyday Australians to positively change their lifestyles and improve their health.

  • #ActiveAchievers Award

Recognises the outstanding work that Registered Instructors and Trainers do every day to help Australians live a more active, healthy lifestyle.

  • Awards of Honour

Recognises the efforts and achievements made by industry leaders and champions. Within this category, the Chairman’s Award and Volunteerism Award will be presented.

  • Student Award

Recognises outstanding achievements by students who completed their fitness qualifications within the last 12 months.

Fitness Australia CEO Lauretta Stace described the awards as a recognition of the achievements of trainers and instructors across Australia. “There is a huge amount of excellence and innovation in the fitness industry, and fitness professionals work with a wide range of people to help them to meet their health and fitness goals. These awards give us a chance to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution that instructors and trainers make to the health of people in their communities.”
