Jill Healy-Quintard Shares Why Fitness Australia AusREPs Should Vote For Her

Why should you vote for Jill Healy-Quintard as a AusREP Member for Fitness Australia?

The time is now and I believe that my long Fitness Industry history, knowledge and experience will benefit by my selection to the Board of Directors.

My entire life has involved Human Movement and I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in Fitness and Wellness, as well as teaching, that spans from my acting and dance training and teaching to teacher training, working with special needs children to early beginnings of the fitness industry in the late 1970’s through to the booming industry it is today. My passion and vision is that all Australians from all backgrounds, all ages and fitness levels can have access to fitness through many providers who understand the mind/body connection for ultimate health. I wish to be part of a team of strong advocates who hold this philosophy and promote through many allied organisations the need for a strong fitness and wellness policy in order to maintain strong, fit and happy work/life balance for all Australians and for them to continue to age positively.

In 2019 I was nominated Top 5, Group Fitness in the Australian Fitness Awards and have contributed to Fitness Australia and the fitness industry by my long time commitment to helping individuals and professional trainers realise their full potential, fitness, and wellness goals for 40 years.

I love sharing my passion for fitness with a sense of fun in all my programs. By diversifying into a number of programs for different demographics from children in schools, to all ages in Aerobic Fitness Programs in the 1980’s, to Group Fitness Freestyle and Choreographed, to Pilates, to Yoga and a combination of all which incorporate mind and body balance. I continue to motivate and inspire individuals and groups at all levels of my community in Sydney, Australia.

I also spent a year in France, where I formulated programs for groups and individuals in a small French village that changed their lives, as well as my own through the realisation that not all people have the access and knowledge about living fit and well lives, and my passion is to reach as many people as possible to increase longevity and healthy ageing.

I have written my own program which I presented in April 2019 at the Filex Fitness Convention in YogaPilates Fusion. I simultaneously released my first book YogaPilates Fusion. A Mind Body and Balanced Program.

As a teacher I was previously the Co-ordinator of the Shepherd Centre Program for Hearing Impaired children where exercise, movement, music and involvement with the cochlear implant program formulated my passion that education must include movement. I currently run my program through TTA (Teacher Training Australia) for NSW Department of Education Teachers titled Movement and Meditation for Student and Staff Wellbeing, which provides physical exercise techniques and evidence of the importance of exercise in education, as well as Meditation for increased productivity and decreased depression. I presented and won an award as An Iconic Woman in 2017 at the Women’s Economic Forum (WEF 17) for my Program ‘Keeping Your Working Body and Mind Fit.’ This program is to aid the everyday worker from manual worker, to office to corporates, cope with stresses of a working life by balance of mind and body throughout the working day.

In 2013 I was part of an Industry Development Team flown to Melbourne to discuss the future of Fitness at the Fitness Australia offices under the direction of Lauretta Stace: Lauretta wrote. “We would be delighted if you could participate in this consultation process in this area and have the relevant expertise to assist with this important work.”

I teach all ages daily through my business Body and Balance Fitness and Wellness, that has been registered since 1990. A specific focus is helping women of pre and post-menopausal age to cope with the mental and physical aspects of hormonal changes. These women often feel depressed and unable to find the right fitness solution. I have developed a program called A45PLUS Pro-age Empowerment Plan, which includes exercise based on Yoga, Pilates, Barre and HIIT for healthy ageing. My husband and I developed an APP with this title that was released in October 2019 and I am currently working with clients in different locations using ZOOM for one on one and group consultation. Many of my Australian clients joined me online for classes using the ZOOM program while I travelled in Europe and Vietnam for 4 months from May to September 2019. Fitness is open to a much larger and broader community with technology available to provide online and digital information as it is formulated. Being part of and contributing to this industry means the future for Fitness and Wellness is limitless.
